Ever since he was a kid, John always wanted to be a builder. He graduated from Auburn University’s School of Architecture with a bachelor’s degree in Building Sciences and immediately began working for Turner Construction on some very exciting projects including Vanderbilt University Medical Research buildings, St. Thomas Hospital, The Tennessee Aquarium, St Jude’s Hospital, and many others.

However, what John really wanted to do was own his own construction company and build homes for people from start to finish. John blazed his own path in residential construction and hasn’t looked back since. In 2008, he founded John Hays Construction to specialize in all forms of residential construction although he still takes on commercial projects as well.

According to John, construction is an art form, and as a sculptor, it’s his duty to bring the vision of his clients to life. John’s lifelong passion for building truly shines through all of his work.
