Each step is guided by proven methods and attention to detail, so you can feel confident in the outcome. The result is a smoother experience and a home built right the first time.

During this initial meeting, we start by thoroughly understanding your vision, goals, and expectations. We ask questions and listen carefully to what you want.

We work with the top architects in Nashville to create a plan for your home that meets your needs. If you already have project plans, or have an architect in mind, we welcome the opportunity to collaborate. This is also the ideal time to work with an interior designer to specify all of your project finish materials, hardware, and fixtures.

Once plans have been drawn up, we review for feasibility and to create a budget. This allows us to give you a contract for the construction of your new home. We’re clear about what can be achieved, including timelines and budget. Prior to signing the construction contract, we do require proof of financing.

Before we can break ground, we submit permits to the relevant municipalities. Whether you are building in the city of Nashville, or one of Davidson County’s smaller municipalities such as Forest Hills, Oak Hill, or Belle Meade, the permitting process is the same. The architect will finalize permit-ready plans for submission, including a survey & plot plan to show where the house will sit on the property, the building plans themselves, and the trade specifications for plumbing, electrical, HVAC, and gas. The wait time for permits once fully submitted can be up to 30 days, depending on the municipality’s current backlog.

We keep clients informed throughout the project. Our goal is to provide you with weekly updates that will inform you about the next two weeks on the project. We will also sit down with you about once a month to review budgeting. By sharing these progress updates, including any challenges, changes to timeline, or changes to budget, as soon as they arise, we offer solutions and alternatives rather than focusing solely on the problem, to keep your new home construction project running as smoothly as possible. 

Our focus on high quality craftsmanship and attention to detail is evident on every jobsite we run. And we ensure a clean and organized site that not only reflects our professionalism but also ensures safety and reduces stress for you.

As we start to reach the completion point of your new home, we will do a final walkthrough of the jobsite with you to create a punch list. Final inspections will take place and we will receive a certificate of occupancy for your new home. And lastly, we will do a thorough cleaning of the home, including all of the ductwork, to ensure your new home is immaculate and ready to live in. Following a final walkthrough to ensure everything meets our high standards, it is time to hand over the keys to your new home.

I hired John Hays for 2 projects and I was pleased with both. He does a great job, and has good support staff. In renovation there will be 'bumps,' but John was quick to correct and work through them.
