Our Custom Home Remodeling Process

Step 1: Initial Consultation
During this initial meeting, we start by thoroughly understanding your vision, goals, and expectations. We ask questions and listen carefully to what you want.
Step 2: Architectural & Interior Design
We work with the top architects in Nashville to create a plan for your remodel that meets your needs. If you already have project plans, or have an architect in mind, we welcome the opportunity to collaborate. This is also the ideal time to work with an interior designer to specify all of your project finish materials, hardware, and fixtures.
Step 3: Feasibility & Project Scoping
Once plans have been drawn up, we review for feasibility and to create a budget. This allows us to give you a contract for your home remodeling project. We’re clear about what can be achieved, including timelines and budget. Prior to signing the construction contract, we do require proof of financing.
Step 4: Pre-Construction
Before we can commence your home remodel, we submit permits to the relevant municipalities. Whether your home is in the city of Nashville, or one of Davidson County’s smaller municipalities such as Forest Hills, Oak Hill, or Belle Meade, the permitting process is the same. The architect will finalize permit-ready plans for submission, including any trade specifications for plumbing, electrical, HVAC, and gas. The wait time for permits once fully submitted can be up to 30 days, depending on the municipality’s current backlog.
Step 5: Construction
We keep clients informed throughout the project. Our goal is to provide you with weekly updates that will inform you about the next two weeks on the project. Depending on the length of your project, we will also sit down with you about once a month to review budgeting. By sharing these progress updates, including any challenges, changes to timeline, or changes to budget, as soon as they arise, we offer solutions and alternatives rather than focusing solely on the problem, to keep your home renovation project running as smoothly as possible.

Step 6: Project Completion
As we start to reach the completion point of your remodel, we will do a final walkthrough of the jobsite with you to create a punch list. Final inspections will take place. And lastly, we will do a thorough cleaning of the jobsite to ensure your new space is immaculate and ready to live in.
